Ur Inner Struggles In James Mitchnerss historical novel The Source Urs view of himself and his place in the world changes as he faces confusing inner struggles At the beginning of the chapter Bee Eater Ur feels like he knows everything about his life and is in total control of his life he is happy as a man could be 87 Things start to change in Urs life when a pebble simply falls into a well and creates a ripple Ur looked at his face which was now all distorted because of the ripple and was confused at why this happens 88 Another change in Urs life occurs when rain comes and he is unable to stop it 104 Ur is obscure at why the rain is falling and why it wont stop when he tells it to Then his wife starts to scream at the storm Storm go back Go back and leave our fields and it abated and the waters receded A third and final thing that bewilders Ur is the death of his son-in-law 119 They went out to hunt a wild boar and it attacks Urs son-in-law and kills him This is the first time Ur experiences a death and he has no idea why this could have happened why did the boar attack What happened to his son-in-law Ur feels like he has no control over anything At the end of the chapter Bee Eater Ur realizes he doesnt know everything about life and that he might not be in control of his life and he is curious about what other supernatural powers are out there The changes Ur experiences in his relationship to his position in life represent the changes humankind experienced throughout the Neolithic Revolution
