The Pigman is a compelling story that kept my attention throughout the whole book This book which is narrated through the first person point of view is about two teenagers by the names of Lorraine and John who live somewhere near Staten Island New York One day Lorraine John and two other friends were playing a game where each of them had to call a complete stranger and try to keep them on the line as long as they could When it was Lorraines turn she called a man by the name of Angelo Pignati She started talking to him under the alias of a Miss Truman from the LJ Fund a charity for young actors and writers Loraine immediately noticed this person sounded very lonely and very happy to have someone to talk to John then persuaded Lorraine to ask for a donation and surprisingly Mr Pignati agreed to donate ten dollars and told them to come to his house to pick it up Lorraine and John then go to pick up the money on the next day They sat around drank wine and b ecame quite gregarious towards each other Over the next couple of months John Lorraine and Mr Pignati or the Pigman did many things together such as go to the zoo shopping or just have fun at the Pigmans house All this cavorting ended when Mr Pignati suffered from a heart attack and almost dies While in the hospital Mr Pignati trusted John and Lorraine to take care of the house while he was in the hospital but John and Lorraine break that trust by throwing what was supposed to be a small party the day before Mr Pignatis expected departure from the hospital However Mr Pignati decided to leave one day early and walked right into the late night rave He was shocked to see items such as his deceased wifes dress and many of his fake pigs destroyed
