My portfolio proposal is going to be short and sweet The reason for this basically stems from the fact that I believe writing is overemphasized in most educational settings Over the duration of my education I have been forced to write in many lengthy pages what can be summed up perfectly and poetically in one sentence I am a firm believer that quality will always be triumphant over its greatest opponent quantity I have written many things for which I can be proud but never have I written something that I feel contains part of myself Until this year I have never been given a chance to propose what I feel I want to accomplish I understand the responsibility that goes along with this freedom therefore I intend to project in my writing a safe medium between my own personal writing format and the one that I have grown accustom to thus far in life This medium will be the basic theme of my portfolio I propose for my portfolio to catalog the enhancement of my writing skills and techniques I plan on writing one large paper mid-semester on the topic of my choice Throughout the remainder of the time I will write four smaller papers of a topical nature Two of the papers will be written before the large paper and two will be written afterward If successful this collection of writing will showcase the growth of my writing talents over the semester As my coherence to normal scholastic endeavors I plan to add chapter units 14711 and 12 to my portfolio This will be a presentation of how my skills of interpretation differ from chapter to chapter Mark Twain once said We write frankly and fearlessly but then we modify before we print My intention this semester is to abandon modification This will leave me with a raw style of writing a style that I believe will better express myself
