The day my life changed October 31st 2001 500 am the alarm goes off beep beep beep Megan will you turn that damn thing off Uuhh what Turn it off Ok ok Its way to early to be alive Im probably going back to sleep when we get there Yeah right you wont be able to sleep As we began to prepare for the biggest day of our life the conversation was nothing of great importance We had to be at the hospital by 700 am that was a mere 2 hours away By 600 am I had all our bags ready to go snacks things to do clothes his clothes car seat to bring him home in and of course the video camera As nerve racking as it all was the doctors assured us everything was fine our soon to be son just needed a little extra help to come into this world I always said why would he want to come out of a nice warm place where hes always fed and always comforted It was 700 am as we entered the hospital carrying our luggage Most wouldve thought we were checking into a resort for the week Friendly faces greeted us We were escorted to our room where we found it to be quite roomy It had a full bathroom a TV a bed for birthing and a comfy couch where I assumed Id be making myself comfortable for the next 2 nights So we went about our day set up our room the way we wanted it It was around 730-800 am that the nurse came in to hook up Megan to the IV Around 920am the nurse came back and started the pitocin The nurse also hooked up a machine that read the contractions and we could listen to our babys heartbeat Over the next few hours we were fixed on the monitor every contraction was like a celebration that
