One Hundred and One Plus Gary and his wife Linda are the proud parents of an eight year old daughter named Casey Her birthday was last month and she was excited about it as most young people are Her parents had planned her party for more than a week the cake the presents right down to the Barbie napkins and pink silverware The night before Caseys big day a medium rain fell on her inner city San Angelo home It was no big deal at first however until Gary walked out into his backyard to an overwhelming aroma of wet dog He like many other San Angelo inner city residents fell victim to living next door to neighbors with an alarmingly large amount of canine companions Caseys day was ruined her party was forced to be held indoors due to the consuming odor Gary and Linda both decided to talk to their neighbors about the incident The neighbors were sorry that the aroma upset the family but said there was nothing they could do about it Well there is 12 dogs with an average weight of 17 pounds each have no place in an inner city backyard Gary and Linda believe many dogs need extra care and should belong in a more appropriate place they believe also even though the dogs are loved they should not be kept against their well being and that laws concerning inner city dog ownership should be under similar restrictions as Livestock The first Argument brought before City Council in regards to multiple dog ownership are the concerns who grants people as good as their intentions may be the right to open a pound for abandoned animals in their backyards Multi-canine households insist they rescued their friends and saved them from a horrible death in a cold and lonely pound They argue the fact if people are discouraged from adopting strays because of limit laws more dogs
