Outreach made me reflect a lot this year Due to the fact that I was so bored while I was cutting my vegetables I thought about our current society a lot As you have read previous to this conclusion I discovered 2 things and I came up with 2 conclusions for the future The 2 things I discovered were the presence of racism and poverty in Montreal Before moving here I didnt think there would be racism as I was told by many people that Montreal was full of different kinds of races At school at the mall at clubs at restaurants racism takes place everywhere I also figured that racism wasnt only between wealthy and the poor but also between wealthy and wealthy and poor and poor I didnt think there was that much poverty in Montreal A lot of people are in debt People I would talk to at Outreach would brag about having a car or a new sound system at home but when you ask them where they got the money well theyd simply answer that they dont have to pay anything until January 2003 Cant wait to see what theyre going to be doing next winter Theres also a lack of use of these soup kitchens Homeless people on the street werent seen that much at Chez Mes Amis For my 2 conclusions that I thought of for life were that you must select a job where the entourage is fun to work in and to finish your studies These 2 things are essential to being happy in the working industry when youre older I think community service is something everyone should do once in a while to give back to the society At Chez Mes Amis in NDG I didnt always feel like what I was doing was being appreciated but in the end it does make a difference Most of the vegetables which I cut
