Who will be the next president of the United States of America This is the question that is on everyones mind as the election approaches In this essay I will discuss three potential candidates John Kerry George W Bush and Ralph Nader and where they stand on different issues I will also discuss which candidate I would like to win the election Ralph Nader and which candidate that I think will win the election George W Bush First I will discuss Ralph Nader Nader has absolutely no chance of winning the election although I want him to In fact he is excluded from the ballot in thirteen states The main reason I would want Nader to win is because he shares many of the same views as me George W Bush wants to outlaw same sex marriage and abortion Although one may not agree with those concepts it should be the persons responsibility to choose whether or not heshe wants to enter into a same sex marriage or have an abortion For example if my daughter or someone close to me was raped or just made a bad choice and had unprotected sex and she had no way of supporting a child she should be able to make the decision whether or not to have an abortion Another one of his views that I agree with is his view on the death penalty He opposes the death penalty while Kerry and Bush are supporters of capitol punishment In August of 2000 Nader said The death penalty has been shown in study after study not to deter homicides it has been shown to be discriminatorily applied to the poor and the defenseless especially defendants who dont have lawyers who stay awake at trial Many people may put forth the argument Would you want your tax dollars to support the criminal The fact of the matter is that the death penalty will ultimately cost much much more
