I think that the author wants the readers to consider things along the lines of racism prejudice discrimination friendships family relationships courage and doing whats right There was a bit of racism mostly it seems like two gangs hating each other and have their own territory When the white community was down on the beach and the aboriginals were on their way The white people got worried that the aboriginals would play round with their boat they had sitting out Ended out they walked past it I think the whites are scared of the black and especially they were using the past to think of what could happen in the present as when they aboriginals were coming they were thinking of the fights between the white community and the aboriginals down on the beach Blacky is a white boy thats interesting how the author thought of doing that There is only one reason I can come up with why he called a white boy Blacky is that Blacky likes the aboriginals and respects them and its part of his character In this part the author wanted us to see some of the situations racism can cause for example the Beach part I wouldnt want the beach thing to happen to me if it really was going to happen In the place where Clarence was sitting where it said Boongs Piss Off I think that is discrimination to the aboriginals as its firstly calling them a name and secondly trying to keep the aboriginals out of that area I wouldnt think it would have that much effect but the Aboriginals could be hurt by it The author here wanted you to see that the aboriginals get all this put at them and its not really fair as you get this idea though the authors thoughts that the author has given Blacky With the family relationships Blacky has being in such a large mess
