Self-help book Who Moved My Cheese By Spencer Johnson MD Who Moved My Cheese tells a story of change of how we react to it and the terrible straits we can find ourselves in when we dont follow that change The story is told in such simple terms that one might think there is little value in the story The story concerns four characters two mice and two little people The characters live in a maze chasing after cheese The cheese is intended to be a symbol for anything we chase after in life that we believe will make us happy The author describes the trials and tribulations we all have in life joy excitement sorrow greed envy stubbornness fear and the list goes on As in life the characters are never sure why the cheese is placed in the maze nor the source of the cheese When the characters are suddenly faced with change just like we are in life some are ready and others are not The book records one characters progress and eventual triumph and the lessons he learns along the way In a section after the story four friends describe the impact that the story had on them and how they saw themselves and their actions in the context of the story The shortest book I have ever read and how so few words could make such a huge impact on my life It is not so much the huge impact as it would be to know that this impact could take affect in an hour and a half After reading this book and doing a self-evaluation I learned a lot about myself and what it was that was actually making me feel unhappy at the time in my relationship with my boyfriend and to be more exact also the most extreme unhappiness was the affect that my job was having on me After reading
