TAKING a Stand I enjoyed learning about DARE I learned the importance of saying no if someone asks me to take drugs I think the DARE program is an awesome program I learned about heavy peer pressure teasing pressure friendly pressure and indirect pressure I learned that I should talk to an adult or a teacher if I experience a problem at school rather than tell a friend because a friend will tell you what they think you want to hear I learned ways to deal with stress or else stress can build up until you get so mad that you want to blame everything on someone else or hit someone I learned about stressors and how to deal with them too If someone stresses me out I will tell him or her to quit or I will walk away from the situation If they follow me and will not leave me alone I will tell an adult such as a teacher or a parent I learned assertiveness is my right I learned a lot from the four role models that visited our class and told us about drugs and how to stay drug free They told us how to say no if someone offers us drugs or offers us a cigarette to smoke They also told stories about things they experienced or saw in high school Their stories were very interesting They spoke very well and didnt stumble on what they were going to say They also answered all of our questions except for a few personal questions that some kids asked I understand that it is important to stay drug free and avoid violence because if you start drugs now you could get addicted and possibly stay on drugs until you die Drugs can kill and no one should try them because they will make your life shorter Drugs can make your skin
