Moulin Rouge is a creative and inventive motion picture The story of a poor writer who falls in love with a courtesan is filled with emotional depth and complex characters Directed by Baz Luhrmann this film has a unique look and feel to it in its plot cinematography and music Love is the central and most powerful theme of Moulin Rouge The story centers on the love between Christian the poor writer and Satine the courtesan Christian is a young writer who arrives in Paris and gets introduced to the Bohemian lifestyle and the nightclub Moulin Rouge Satine is the Sparkling Diamond of the club and Christian easily falls in love with her The storys conflict comes into play when a wealthy Duke decides he will fund the clubs new musical in exchange for Satine to be his and his only This love triangle creates a good storyline and fills the viewer with joy sadness excitement and humor The visual spectacle that is Moulin Rouge is almost a dreamlike one The colors are deep and rich the settings are fantasy-like and the costumes are bold and beautiful The camera angles and viewpoints work very well to intrigue the viewer of the film Many fast-paced moving shots are used and almost create a kind of overwhelming confusion and sense of excitement Moulin Rouge is not only dreamlike in its physical set choices but also in its daring cinematography Moulin Rouge is a movie but is also a musical filled with song and dance as well Its use of modern songs and lyrics inside a world of the past makes this film very interesting The dance numbers are wonderfully choreographed and leave the viewer breathless Also contributing to Moulin Rouges awe factor is the surprise that the actors not recording artists sing each song The film Moulin Rouge works because it supports its energy love style and wonderful set designs with
