Throughout the Bible and literary works from biblical times to even through todays time God has used people as examples what if that someone was you You an individual that loves the Lord with all of you heart and serve Him daily yet He allows Satan to mess with different things in your life Is it because God is trying your faith that He allows this to happen It is my belief that the more you praise God for everything and anything that He is and has done in your life the more Satan gets jealous So yet in the mist of your serving God Satan interferes trying to convince you to stop serving God This is somewhat what was going on with Job Many critics believe that the book of Job is a sad story but it is actually a story of perseverance Job was considered happy for his endurance Rush Ser Gods Trophy The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away blessed be the name of the Lord Job 121 The believer who has taken the Lord as his Shepherd can assuredly say in the words of the twenty-third Psalm Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever On the other hand taking the marginal reading of the Revised Version Only goodness and mercy shall follow me Therefore we may be sure that days of adversity as well as days of prosperity are full of blessing The believer does not need to wait until he sees the reason for Gods afflictive dealings with him ere he is satisfied He knows that all things work together for good to them that love God and that all Gods dealings are those of a loving Father who permits only that which for the time being is grievous in order to accomplish results that cannot he achieved in any less
