The Book of Job There was a man named Job He was blameless and upright one who feared God Job had seven sons and three daughters His children got together and held a feast After the feast he offered seven burnt offerings to the God because he thought that his sons might have sinned and cursed God in their hearts One day the sons of God came to the LORD Satan also came with them God mentioned that Job was blameless upright and the one who turned from evil Satan asked God to test Jobs faith and loyalty by destroying whatever Job had and said to God that Job would curse Him if he lost everything God gave Satan the permission to test Job Thus one day a messenger came to Job saying that the Sabeans took the oxen that were plowing and the Asses feeding besides them away and killed the servants Then came another messenger saying that sheep and servants were burnt in a fire Another messenger came saying that Chaldeans raided the camels and killed the servants And finally another messenger came with the message that his sons and daughters who had been eating and drinking in their eldest brothers house were dead because the house had collapsed due to great wind Even after this destruction Job fell upon the ground and worshipped God and says that he had come naked from his mothers womb and would return naked Job says that God had given and so He had taken away Again one day when the sons of God came to the LORD God said to Satan that though Satan moved God against Job and tested Job by destroying everything that he had Job was still blameless and upright Satan said to God that a man will do anything to save his life when he is in trouble Satan asked God to make Job suffer from painful disease and that Job
