The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is a wonderful humorous book created by Douglas Adams that includes many funny classic clicheacutes about the galaxy and the future It is about a human named Arthur Dent who was saved from the planet Earth which was being destroyed by the Volgons by his mysterious alien friend from the small planet of Betelgeuse named Ford Perfect He was a hitchhiker that traveled the galaxy by hitching rides and wrote entries for the book he helped write The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy The book was a guide for people traveling the galaxy and always be one step ahead Plus it had the nice friendly words on the back of the book Dont Panic Arthur Dent is the last man living on Earth He acts like anyone else would if the where the last man on Earth He learns all about the galaxy and realizes just how small he really is He is about thirty years old tall with dark hair and never really at ease with himself Ford Perfect was a friend of Arthur Dent He is a hitchhiker traveling the galaxy but unluckily intending to stay there for a week he became stuck on the planet Earth for fifteen years the most harmless planet in the galaxy In fact that is the only thing ever said about Earth in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy but all that changed when he a writer for the guide updated the entry to mostly harmless He is a tall strange person who always brought his towel which is to be said is the most useful object in the universe Zaphod Beeblebrox is the President of the Imperial Galactic Government He is a self confidence unreliable adventurous ex-hippie kind of guy Although he is the president he actually has no power whatsoever His only job is to draw attention away from the real power Only six people know
