"You draw clear connections between the characters' circumstances and how these define their experiences in the story. The paragraphs are focused, spending time with each supporting idea before moving on, which helps build the argument logically. I notice a number of opportunities within paragraphs to streamline the presentation by revising and editing the writing. For example, some of the points made in the second- and third-to-last sentences in para. 1 could be expressed more briefly with the note that "There was little social mobility during the Victorian Era" (or similar). By taking the opportunities to tighten these historical context moments up, the discussion can focus on the textual analysis.

In the copy of the paper I am reading, all the quotation marks have gone missing. Make sure any final draft you turn in is correctly formatted, as the quotation marks are a key element in clarity and ethos. Check your style guide for what to include in the in-text citations: at the very least you will likely not capitalize "Pg.", and some punctuation will need tidying up (e.g., the periods interrupting the presentation of the "he's more myself than I am" speech, page 2)."
