Newborn mothers nurse their babies regularly Young children are usually fed 3 square meals at the same time every day However when children reach school age these healthy eating habits are not always practiced What effect does eating breakfast have on the life of a child in different areas But more specifically what effect does breakfast have on academic performance In order to find the correlation between eating breakfast and performing well academically an experiment correlation study must be done The ethical issues involved in any experiment involving minors would be parental permission and not withholding food from people who would normally eat breakfast Keeping this in mind the researcher can continue with the experiment Two groups will be formed with one as the control group those who eat breakfast and group 2 as those who do not typically eat breakfast The test group would be school-age people This would include Kindergarteners through High School Seniors The most accurate way of conducting the experiment would be for the students to not be compared with other students performance but to be compared with their past performance Doing that would mean that both groups must eat breakfast for one year At the close of the year test scores of the students would be compared with those of the previous year A factor that must be included are the increase or decrease of difficulty in the different school years An increase in the test scores would exist and once presented to the county or states board of education could result in the implementation of a free lunch program So that all students would have a fair shot at achieving academically
