Book Report Grapes of Wrath Exposition The beginning of the story had started in Oklahoma during the month of May The rain was said to bring growth to the corn However the seasons were changing and that drought began and by the beginning of June the vegetation of the world began to fade and become dust Inciting Incident The Joad family decides to leave for California and start a new life there where they hear it has a lot of work for migrants Rising Action The journey to California the marrying of Rose the leaving of Noah by the Colorado River Grandmas death all which consisted during the travel to California The Joads go through various campsites where they search for jobs Climax Casy was murdered Tom wanted to avenge his death and in this process he matured and accepted the teachings of Casy Tom knew in order to fight poverty which was the antagonist he would have to have to fight and try to mobilize the people Falling Action The Joads and all migrant workers are threatened with their lives because of poverty There is a continuation of bad mishaps that had taken place Roses still born that had been sent down the stream no money and food during winter and the continual reduction of family members Resolution Even through the hard times there were signs of hope in the end of the story Ma Joad showed signs of strength and Rose nursed a dying man The family had gone to a barn for shelter from the rain and flood Al stays back with Agnes because he loves her Conflict Human vs Nature Protagonist Tom Joad is a hard working migrant Tom had come to a conclusion that life would be able to improve if there was a group involvement that would to proceed Tom wanted to set out for
