The novel The Lord of The Flies by William Golding brings up an important quote Literature opens a dark window on the soul revealing more about what is bad in human nature than good I agree with this statement Many pieces of literature show that dark side of human nature I think if someone is away form a normal environment and live in a savage like area then they to will become a savage You act like the people around and learn from them as well In this essay I will explain why I agree to the statement As the story begins all they boys act like normal people They pick a leader to maintain authority Ralph as the new leader creates rules and law and uses the conch to show his leadership and to call meetings Everything was going well until Jack introduced the idea of hunting for meet and this caused his transformation into a savage As I mentioned in the introduction you learn from the people around you that is exactly what happened the other boys learned to hunt and joined Jacks tribe where he was the new leader and where there were no rules or laws all that mattered was hunting for meat The only boys that remained unchanged were Ralph and Piggy On the first few days of the boys arrival to the island Roger is seen throwing rocks at someone but purposely missing his target and this shows that he still goes by the rules as they were back at home Even though there is no one on the island that will punish him he still thinks of the consequence Once Roger joins Jacks tribe he losses his respect for society and no longer care if he hurts anyone By the end of the book he become completely careless and doesnt let anyone bother him so when Piggy comes back to get his
