Wild Children Essay In the novel Wild Children by Felice Holman a group of young boys are forced to survive on the streets after their parents are jailed or killed by the KGB secret police The two main characters in the novel are Peter and Alex Both of them have values rules and show strong leadership skills Of the two Peter would be the better friend because of his experience maturity leadership skills and his knowledge of the streets Peter showed maturity by organizing the Jacob bakers Band which consists of wild children from various places in Russia Peters band had rules such as no one in his band was allowed to do cocaine or bring in extremely sick children into their bands basement Peter was always concerned about the other members in his band He acted as their father by teaching them everything he knew He taught them how to steal properly and fend for themselves on the streets of Moscow Peters leadership skills were noticeable throughout the novel Peter tried to act as the boys parent or guardian he would lead them trough their life and make the right decisions for them Peter was the only family the wild children knew he loved them like they were his kids Peter made rules for his children so he could have balance and order over them Even though Peter was still only a young boy himself he wanted to look out for the other kids His maturity level was obviously very advanced for his age not very many children could find a place for more than a dozen boys o live and give them the support they needed especially in those days in Russia On the streets of Moscow Peter would become a mastered thief and think with his head He pretty much stole everything the boys needed except for the few rubels they could steal
