We live in a country that is commonly referred to as a melting pot Our country is referred to this because of the vast diversity of races in our country As America grows and society grows we have come to accept the different races willingly Although the general population has accepted the racial diversity there are still some people among us that have not and never will These people belong to what is called white supremacist groups Groups such as the Klu Klux Klan are very well organized and have hundreds of thousands of members world wide They hold a belief that the pure blooded white race is superior to all others and they think that any other race should fail to exist With the racial diversity in America growing every day there is the ever present fear that these groups will reunite and avenge their beliefs In Abby L Ferbers book White Man Falling she assesses the negative influences that non-white races pose on pure blooded whites Ferber als o points out that the white supremacist views and ideals are stemmed from a belief that it is vital to their cause to have racial segregation and that the white people resume control of this nation Although there are several white power groups the Klu Klux Klan or more commonly referred to as the KKK is the most powerful and dangerous group out there Nathan Bedford Forest founded the KKK in 1865 The Klan is seen as a power trying to eliminate all non-white races According to the official web-site of the Imperial Klan Association IKA this is a misconception provided by the media According to the web-site the Klan as is follows The Klan is a gathering of White Christian men and women who are joined together because of the common bond they share by blood and faith Each person is an individual and we do not attempt to do your thinking for you
