PERSONAL LEARNING STYLE INTRODUCITON Learning styles tell us a lot about ourselves It is helpful to be aware of ones own learning style for the purposes of learning and teaching Understanding learning styles is important because everyone has different ways of learning To gain rapport with a person read hisher learning styles and repeats the process back to them within the same context Knowing an individuals particular style allows us as students to maximize the educational potential in a training session Cathy Hadaway the teacher of the GEN 101 class should teach in many different ways to appease the audience If she only taught in one style some students would not pick up on many important facts therefor the students would have a learning style challenge MY PERSONAL LEARNING STYLE The Are You a Grouper or a Stringer questionnaire reveals that I am a grouper I view the whole picture of many situations better than following the rules I feel that the type of questionnaires given out are situational and not for a definite reference I am a grouper in general and will continue to gather many types of information and topics to accomplish a task I am a very visual person by nature I learn the best when using all of my senses The more exposure I have to my sight feel and hearing the more I learn I learn best when being active discussing facts a little more than relationships seeing information and gathering the information in a random manner It is interesting to note that although I am fairly balanced the direction that I tend to move toward depends on the subject being discussed I love learning new facts but I also enjoy thinking about potentials and possibilities when discussing certain fields I learn best in-group a groups discussion can cover many areas of understanding as long as the group is diverse This has not always been the case
