In my recent research I have found out that according to LimiTV website they believe that The number of children and adolescents who are overweight or obese has doubled in the past 20 years in the US according to the AAP Even children younger than five across all ethnic groups have shown significant increases in overweight and obesityA number of studies have linked being overweight with TV watching because it both reduces childrens physical activity and subjects them to ads promoting foods with high fat and sugar contentA television in a childs bedroom has also been reported as a strong predictor of overweight even in preschool-aged children There have been many advertisements and research to proof that watching TV is not healthy for you In fact sometime when you read something or watch something it is not always what it seems There can be hidden meaning behind an advertisement reading magazine and even movies One in particular is The Ring it is not just a simple horror movie it has a lot of deep and meaningful messages Three of the messages that I picked up on this movie are that TV is bad for you Parents and children relationship is important and peer pressure The movie starts out with Becca and Katie talking about TV Katie was telling Becca that how TV and telephone is killing out brain cell and Becca went on to tell Katie about a video tape that after you watch it you receive a phone call tell you that you will die in days And Katie got a little freak out because she was watching that tape with a few of her friends After they went down stair to pick up the phone Katie disappears upstairs while Becca was downstairs trying to fix the TV because it keeps turning on by itself A moment later Becca went upstairs to find Katie but only to discover her dead body At her funeral
