To modernise or not to modernise that is the question and Baz Lurhman has answered a yes to that question and has made a modern version of Romeo and Juliet With stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo and Claire Danes as Juliet this is a must see for all Leonardo DiCaprio fans or for any one who likes a movie with a great modern twist Instead of sword fights they have gunfights instead of horses they have cars Drugs also make an appearance in this modern day marvel I found this newer version of the film easier to understand as it used a more modern style of English the quality of the film was a lot clearer and using modern filming techniques created a more appealing film to todays audiences This story hasnt differed a lot from the original Romeo and some friends decide to gate crash a fancy dress party of their sworn enemies the Capulets While Romeo and his friends are there Romeo sees Juliet and they instantly fall in love The only set back is that Juliet is Sir Capulets daughter So they meet secretly and then they arrange to get married by Friar Lawrence a minister After the wedding Romeo and some friends run into the Capulets and there is a big brawl in which Tybalt Juliets cousin kills Mercutio Romeos best friend Romeo then chases after Tybalt and shoots him Romeo is then banished for killing Tybalt To find out more you would have to watch the movie because I am not telling you the ending Romeo and Juliets motive in this movie is their love for one another and their friends The special effects in this movie are brilliant with camera shots that actually allow you to see through Romeos eyes For example at one point in the movie when Romeo is given a drug by Mercutio the camera starts spinning giving you a sick sort
