Gilgamesh ruler of Uruk treated his people cruelly However as a result of Gilgamesh being 23 god and 13 man his power was unmatched on Earth The gods created a creature Enkidu to match Gilgameshs strength and to counter his evil actions When Enkidu came to Earth he lived in the wild and was a part of nature as well as a representation of the gods Gilgamesh heard of Enkidus existence and sent a harlot Shamhat to seduce Enkidu After sleeping with Shamhat Enkidu lost his connection with nature All of the other animals shied away from Enkidu when he went to the water hole Enkidu was no longer a part of nature and no longer close to god Sleeping with Shamhat eventually led Enkidu to his downfall and death Although Enkidus action led to his death it was necessary in order for Gilgamesh to become a better ruler Similarly Eves influence over Adam led to his downfall Living in the Garden of Eden Adam and Eve were instructed by God not to eat an apple from a tree However Eve bit the apple and convinced Adam to eat the apple also Adam and Eves actions led them and thus human kind to forever be born into sin In effect Eves actions caused things to be the way they are today Although life would have been better for Adam Eve and mankind if Eve had never bit from the apple her action caused the world to be the way that it is In this way the story of Adam and Eve and Gilgamesh parallel each other
