Brenda Barry Persuasive Essay English 101 Fran Pliskin Solving the Mystery of Life Take a look at yourself Youre here That much you know You pinch yourself It hurts Yes you are here You can think Two plus two equals four You are a conscious being and to whatever degree a thinking being Then its logical to look at yourself in the mirror-warts and all-and ask Well what in the world am I doing here Where did Y-O-U come from You-the conscious one-the thinker The one who can look out and reason How did you-the thinking part of you-get here and where are you going If there is no spiritual purpose for anyone then well all be dead buried and forgotten in a few years And the next generation will come along and find they dont know what lifes about either And so will the next Death will continue to steal all the cards away from everyone both from those who had winning and those who had losing hands Youve heard about the old adage Everyone loves a good mystery People love to watch the great storybook detective come on the scene immediately after the crime has been committed There are some potential suspects and some ambiguous clues Whats the first point a detective must establish Motive Who would have a reason to commit the crime Another is means and opportunity The perpetrator must have been capable of committing the deed If you can discover the person who had both motive and opportunity you have a good shot at pinpointing the one responsible for the crime Your life is like the nearly perfect crime but it was an act of life giving rather than life taking You hardly have a clue as to why you are here Yet you are here Something did this to you-made you a conscious human being There are clues that reveal the mystery but they dont make too much
