The story of Solomons wisdom is a very encouraging story It shows how God came to Solomon in a dream and said to him that anything thing that Solomon asked for he would get I will show the relationship between God and Solomon Also show what type of person Solomon was to God and to himself Display how Solomon answered God when God spoke to him Finally Solomon received wisdom and for to receive good wisdom and knowledge would be great That is what attracted me to the story of Solomons wisdom Some question that came to me while reading is why did Solomon ask for knowledge and wisdom instead of all the riches in the world Another is how did God and Solomon talk together in a dream Lastly why did Solomon think of himself just a servant when he is a significant person in God The verses that explains God talking to Solomon in a dream and ending up blessing him is 1 Kgs 35-14 The last verse that complements these verses and summarizes How excellent Solomon displayed his wisdom of judging is 1 Kgs 328 In the New Jerusalem Bible Yahweh is referred to God in the verses more than the other bibles What would you like for me to give to you NJB 1 Kgs 35 This is displaying that God had intentions in his heart to give Solomon anything that he had asked It seemed like it didnt even matter what it was An interesting thing that Solomon did before he asked for wisdom is that he acknowledged God what he did for his father David and how he left a son to rule in his thrown and finally he is given an explanation for what he is asking for This shows the Humbleness of Solomon 1 Kgs 36-8 He is not instantly taking advantage of Gods blessing but understanding Gods goodness
