Back in the day when someone mentioned the word Christian the first image that popped up in my mind reflected a Perfect person almost Angelic like Since I have grown up I have come to realize no such person exists though some few do come close A true Christian in my opinion makes mistakes but admits when they have done wrong and does not lie about it If most Christians gave an honest look at themselves in the mirror they would not perceive an angel staring back at them doused in white robes with a halo hanging slightly above their golden blond hair and their hand carelessly strumming the chords that echo in our ears No the image they would see would be one of a sinner an everyday looking person In attending Franklin High School and actively participating in many sports I have witnessed an overwhelming number of people who fit this description People I looked up to my whole life but just recently discovered their secrets that they hid from the world One particular incident that I can refer back to involves an adolescent one-year my elder She played basketball fairly well made excellent grades great personality pretty popular and many thought of her as a true Christian She took me under her wing my freshman year of basketball She kept me away from every single solitary thing she could that would cause me harm I looked up to her and considered her my role model Later in life I got involved in the things she worked so hard to keep me away from She criticized me demeaned me and said I would end up in Hell Thats when I started to think different of her a true Christian would never say that People make mistakes I said to her If we didnt we wouldnt need Gods forgiveness would we She rolled her eyes shrugged and said Whatever We continued
