What I liked about Beowulf was that in almost every contest there was something exciting that happened In Heorots attack Grendel who is a member of Cains clan whom the creator had outlawed and condemned as outcasts sneaked in to the Mead hall after dark and grabbed thirty men from their resting place When morning came around the town saw the destruction Grendel caused in the Mead hall News of this spreads all throughout the towns near and far The king now puzzled doesnt know what to do for he knows of no man that can defeat Grendel Grendel who is malignant by nature he never showed remorse is a more dangerous antagonist for Beowulf than his mother Grendel was doing this for twelve years The only reason why his mother came out was because her son was killed She didnt do it every night like Grendel but out of love for her own son I think that this shows Grendel more as an evil monster he has no heart or feeling for anything that he does This is his life and he only knows how to kill In the fight with Grendel Grendel attacks Beowulf thinking that he was an ordinary man but found out for his self the strength that Beowulf carried with him He was desperate to escape to his den but couldnt find a way to get away They wrestle through out the mead hall while Beowulfs men try to help him but little do they know that no blade on earth no blacksmiths art could ever damage their demon opponent Finally Beowulf rips Grendels shoulder and arm off leaving him in great pain He manages to escape but certain death lays ahead of him for he now that as well as Beowulf The next morning they have a celebration for Beowulf in the Mead hall That night they all went to sleep and Grendels mother paid a visit to the
