We All Want to Change the World In these days of fighting death and political controversy a reform is needed in peoples governments and morals A revolution is needed to start this reform and start improving life for those around the world To me the meaning of revolution is a movement for a change in peoples way of thinking and acting in efforts to gain peace and equal rights for both humans and the environment The Webster definition of revolution is a drastic and far-reaching change in ways of thinking and behaving This definition is similar to my own but does not mention any specific motive in the change of thoughts or actions In my definition the word revolution has a goal of gaining peace and equal rights behind the movement for change A revolution is more than an idea its a social movement for progressive social change that can spread to global proportions When there is an injustice in the world its people that believe in the power revolution that brings these issues to attention and get them changed Examples of revolutions in progress are the anti-war and anti-abortion protests or the never-ending movement to preserve the rainforests To aide in these causes those who are in the decision making seats whether it be a politician abortion doctor or the owner of a lumber company must be convinced to change their ways of thinking to end the injustice Once someone has changed their way of thinking it would be hypocritical for them to not change their actions When one ignores the negative impact of their actions on others those involved in a revolution against them might use activism as a way to force them to change This would include protests public education media activism civil disobedience direct action and other forms of campaigning Whatever the form a revolution does have a few rules as the lyrics from the Beatles song below points out
