Under difficult circumstances family is the best support for an individual that help and takes one out of bad situations Harper Lees To Kill a Mockingbird takes place in Maycomb United States during the depression era on the other hand Adam Bagdasarian is the author of the national award winning novel Forgotten Fire that takes place in Bitlis Turkey during the time of World War I Both of the novels relate with true-life experiences and deal with racism and poverty however Scout has a family which is different from Vahan as he is an orphan Scout and Vahan learn a lot from their life experiences that help them to develop into mature and responsible young adults First of all the main characters Scout and Vahan experience racism In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird excess racism is present in Maycomb Bob Ewell is an extreme racist who accuses Tom Robinson for raping her daughter The main reason of accusing Tom Robinson is because he is black and Ewell is not able to bear the fact that his daughter was making out with the Negro When Atticus tries to prove Tom Robinsons innocence in the court Bob Ewell turns against him as Atticus proved his testimony wrong After the case was over Ewells threatens Atticus and attacks Scout and Jem in anger at night time In the novel Forgotten Fire Turks are the Muslims and are against the Armenians because they are Christians The people of Turkey are against the Christians in World War 1 and that is why they feared Armenians as they are recognized as troublemakers As Turkey jumps into the war conditions worsen and Turks start slaughtering the Armenians That night Vahans family sit around the table and Vahans uncle tells them We cant trust them we cant trust them10 As a result Vahan tries to take his family out of Turkey But as they proceed on this task his whole family gets
