Andrew Clark the jock always seems to be pleasing other people his father his coach his friends They all see him as a person that he doesnt necessarily want to be Rather than disappoint them he chooses to become who they think he is This creates a lot of internal anger which shows up quite a bit during the movie He uses his strength to intimidate the other students when he feels that he can not control the situation When Bender launches a barrage of stupid questions to prove his point he irritates Andrew You ask me one more question and Im beating the shit out of you tell me that was the only way to handle the situation You cant or youre lying either way Andrew immediately resorts to violence to end the uncomfortable conversation In another conversation that doesnt stay warm and fuzzy Andrew responds with if I lose my temper your totaled man Andrew is physically threatening Bender for the second time It is obvious that Andrew speaks to people like this often Near the end of the movie Andrew finely admits why he is in the room with the rest of them he says Hes like thishes like this mindless machine that I cant even relate to anymoreAndrew youve got to be number one I wont tolerate any losers in this familyYour intensity is for shit Win Win WIN You son of a bitch You know sometimes I wish my knee would give and I wouldnt be able to wrestle anymore And he could forget all about me Andrew admits that his dad wants him to be someone that he doesnt want to be and he has no voice in the matter The fact that he feels that his dad wont love him the way he wants to be tears him up inside Brian Johnson excels academically but in spite of that has little self-confidence He tends to be hard
