This is a report that is going to show examples of different groups views on capital punishment the division between certain groups who hold different views and why it is difficult for most people to come to an agreement or compromise on the issue Capital punishment is of course the action of taking one life for another usually the life of someone who has taken the lives of others A group of people who are usually in favour of the death penalty is the victims relatives the victims relatives usually fell that the death penalty is the only real justice for what the person has done and that it is the only way for them to get closure They tend to believe in the rule of an eye for an eye The death of the criminal is also very important for the relatives to let out there anger at if this does not happen they often live with a feeling of injustice and anger for the rest of their lives which can lead to problems in the future A group of people who are against the death penalty are Christians they believe that we must treat all living human beings as equal as in Gods eyes we are all equal and were all created by him Christians do not believe in the rule of an eye for an eye even though it is a quote from the Bible it was after all Martin Luther King one of the most famous Christians ever who said the old law of an eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind Most of them also believe that the way capital punishment is carried out is barbarically cruel and that there is no need for it in modern society and is now outdated So between just these two groups there is a huge variation in belief this can be put down to many reasons one
