"There is a lot of good and well-researched information from which to develop a strong argument here. However, there is little analysis to refute functionalism aside from introducing conflicting theories. Consider giving more real-world examples and analyzing why functionalism doesn't adequately address these scenarios. The introduction is a bit confusing since you seem to be refuting the idea of functionalism but then mention that the paper will "further claim the functionalist argument." Your introduction of three hypothetical students is very useful. However, the statement that "it is clear" how their lives impact their ability to achieve should be revised. Since you are advocating a stance on this issue, you should be the one to support that conclusion. While there is a lot of high-level discussion of the theories themselves, this paper needs more analysis of how they interact. The broad claims against functionalism also need support if they are to be convincing."
