In the article A Bad Start Nadya Labi describes two different groups opinion about cohabitation One group states that cohabiting couples are encountering more household problems than married couples The other group states that cohabitation reduces the divorce rate by getting rid of unstable relationships Cohabitation is a good idea if people want to live with their loved ones but they are not ready to marry The benefits of cohabitation are that they dont have to spend money on the wedding they dont have to spend time to prepare their wedding Cohabitation can also protect their assents Suppose a couple are getting a divorce they have to divide up their fortune with their spouse Or if you have children and your spouse is being the custodian then you have to pay alimony But if you are just cohabiting with your partner then you dont have to worry about such things My uncle had broken up with his partner recently His partner asked my uncle for half of his money The reason is that they had been sharing everything for the past six years and every of their friends knew them as a married couple My uncle refused to pay and they went to court At last my uncle won the case because they were not married legally they just cohabited for the past six years My mothers friend Joe just broke up with his partner Maggie Maggie had three children before she cohabited with Joe After they broke up Maggie asked Joe to pay the child-support alimony for her three children Joe refused to pay because they have no blood relation with him They went to court and Joe won the case because they were just cohabiting Cohabitation is not as bad as people think Actually cohabitation can reduce the divorce rate Cohabitation can prevent you from losing all of your money Cohabitation can protect your forerun Cohabitation can save you and your partnerss time
