Coffee Shop I waited until the last minute to search for a flight to Long Island and could not find one available The wedding rehearsal would begin at 300 pm With some caffeine and good tunes a four hour road trip didnt seem so bad Waking up early on the weekends was truly a challenge for me I guess this was the price I had to pay for procrastination Never again would I volunteer as wedding coordinator for a friend I woke up at 5 am It seemed as though I had gotten up with the roosters I could hardly keep my eyes open With no time for breakfast Id planned to stop and eat en route Some toast eggs bacon and a shot or two of espresso was definitely on the agenda I always loved the aroma and taste of espresso It always gave me the power boost I quite often needed With this in mind I quickly grabbed my favorite Gucci tote bag and placed it in the trunk of my 1999 Toyota Camry I spotted an old coffee shop on side of the road As I walked through the doors the thick scorched smell of roasted coffee immediately disappointed me The wooden warped floorboards were so old I thought Id fall through I was seated at a cracked table with chairs The waitress was dressed in a 1950 style dress with hideous green flowers all over Her voice was soft and timid as she asked for me for my order There were strange looking people sitting all around the beaten shop A few of them barged through the double doors like they were in a race Patrons started talking amongst themselves complaining about the length of time it took to receive their orders I looked through the filthy stained glass window and noticed that cook waitress and dishwasher were outside smoking cigarettes When my food finally arrived
