It started on February 13 2001 I started working at the Pickle Barrel Restaurant a few blocks away from my house It was a hostessing position This job allows you to meet people of different ethnic backgroundscultures genders and ages When I started working it was really important for me to make a good impression by my co-workers that is why I tried to listen to their requests as to what kind of customers they want Then I started to notice a BMW pull in I hear someone tread heavily with Armani shoes black DKNY suit and Ralph Lauren sunglasses over the stringy eyes I then had an urge to itch my nose it was the smell of sushi raw fish Yes it was the case of the Chinese customer The noise has diminished in the restaurant from the waiters as they are pointing at them and whispering to me put them somewhere else not in my section I always thought that the Chinese people are rich they are always represented in designer clothing and seem very well oriented with their job and family This impression is made through the media because in movies the Chinese are always represented by being smart intelligent and rich people For example in the movie Rush Hour 2 Jackie Chan is represented much more wiser and smarter than Chris Tucker He seemed to have everything always under control very systematic and intuitive thinker and in the end he was the one who found the generals daughter and destroyed the bomb Furthermore the general himself was represented smart and very rich because people were blackmailing him and wanting his money saying if he didnt give a certain amount they would murder his daughter I after started to ask questions what is wrong with the Chinese customers Why are all the waiters telling me that they do not want to serve them Later that day one of my co-worker told me
