onathan SpanoEnglish 3 CP11696Huck Finn Huck has a grim attitude toward people he disagrees with ordoesnt get along with Huck tends to alienate himself from those people Hedoesnt let it bother him Unlike most people Huck doesnt try to make hispoint When Huck has a certain outlook on things he keep his view He willnot change it for anyone For instance in Chapter Three when Miss Watsontells Huck that if he prayed he would get everything he wished for Huck justshook his head yes and walked away telling Tom that it doesnt work becausehe has tried it before with fishing line and fishing hooks this tell us that Huckis an independent person who doesnt need to rely on other people This is a book of social criticism Twain has his ways ofcriticizing people of their actions and the things they do Twain does a goodjob expressing the characters social behaivors Instead of upfront making funof Hulks actions he hints towards them or tries to glorify them when he doessomething that is socially wrong or unintelligent Huck stages his death Thisis not a real bright thing to do even though Hucks father is real mean and is athreat to his life and Hucks life Huck wants to get away from him so badthat the first thing that comes into his mind is to stage his death so Pap willthink hes dead and wont be looking for him ever again Twain feels that bymaking Huck do this Twain is poking fun a Hucks intelligence Not hisnature intelligence but his book intelligence In other words Twain is makingfun of Huck Twain also portrays Huck and Jim as stupid when Huck dressesup like a girl Everyone knows Huck will not pass as a girl Jim is very much like a father to Huck He looks out for Huckand he is respected and looked upon by Huck This is also more significantbecause Huckleberry Finn never had a
