Scott Minnich Explanatory Process Essay How The Game Of Golf Works The game of golf has become a wildly known popular sport It is played by many for recreation exercise or even an occupation In order for one to play golf they must first learn the rules and understand how the game is played Although it may seem easy the fundamentals of golf is a very challenging concept The game of golf is played with several different pieces of equipment In order to play golf you will need several golf balls Golf balls are small in size similar to the size of a walnut and are completely covered with indentations Some golf balls vary in weight to control the spin of the ball which will accomadate to a players swing for extra distance Another necessity would be golf clubs that can be describe as a long slender rod with a handle or grip on one end and a flat metal plate on the other The metal plate is angled differently for each club to create a pitch or level of distance when the ball is hit The front of the plate called the club head contains horizontal grooves in order to create a spin on the ball once the ball is struck There are many other types of equipment that may be used optionally also Golf tees can be used at the beginning of each hole in the tee box Golf tees are usually made of wood or plastic and look like an extra wide toothpick with a Minnich 2 flat end on one side Golf gloves are optional also but are widely used by many players for additional grip while singing the club Golf shoes are popular also containing spiked souls on the shoe providing more balance during a players swing There are many basic rules in playing golf but most can be followed with ease Learning how to
