The Changes in Aspects of Gender Related Life Style in the Modern Culture

This paper focuses on how women are viewed in society. While the author feels like the world has somewhat improved regarding gender roles, they also think that a lot of work still needs to be done regarding labor and the patriarchal working woman. The author feels like we live in a man's world and that feminists have been fighting to reshape the family structure and life. The author discusses how gender is culturally assumed to be femininity and masculinity, but when gender is analyzed using lesbian and gay theory, it is referred to as a social and cultural category based on biological sex differentiation. The author examines several theories such as Aristotelian, Descartes, Joan Acker, Simone de Beauvoir, Carol Gilligan, and Marxism, to name a few. These theorists discuss labor unions, capitalism, patriarchy, subjectivity and objectivity, and feminism related to gender roles.
