The name of the teacher I interviewed was Mrs Susan Knighton Mrs Knighton is in her late fortys She teaches at Carnesville Elementary As soon as you walk into her classroom you can tell she loves what she does Teaching to her is not simply a job but much more She has nineteen years of experience in this field Currently she is teaching the fourth grade and has been for the past eighteen years Before teaching the fourth grade she taught fifth grade art for a year She said she enjoys teaching the fourth grade for many reasons In the fourth grade students are beginning to grasp the harder concepts For her the fourth grade was tough this is why she enjoys teaching at this level She wants to make sure no one leaves her class after a year and feels the same way she did coming out of this grade Even though Mrs Knighton loves her job her dreams were not always of becoming a teacher She had a business degree and started out in the banking business Over a period of time she began to dislike working at the bank due to hours Her husband was a teacher as well as a coach therefore her husband drew into the teaching profession Mrs Knighton went back to school to earn a teaching degree With her newfound job she found the hours she needed to be with her family She said what drew her into teaching was the hours and the persuasion of her husband As Mrs Knighton went into the teaching she expected to feel rewarded seeing the children learn After her first year of teaching she did get what she had expected she felt rewarded However there was one major obstacle she did not expect Mrs Knighton said with her love for children she knew she would become attached As she began caring for the children she realized a lot
