Imagine having hot wax plastered on your body and then removed in such a way that it is ripped off the most tender areas of you skin In addition to the barbarity the women of the Nacirema tribe undergo according to Professor Miners 1 research the ritual involving hot wax is by far one of the most painful of body rituals This particular ceremony is performed in the sacred temple known as the nolas This holy act involves the Nacireman women hot wax and a great deal of pain all apart of their exotic customs and beliefs Once a week the women who are obsessed with improving their appearance go to the nolas to submit themselves to the Goddesses of beauty The Goddesses of beauty are merely the ones whom the people idolized and desired to become most like Inside this sacred temple the women sit in lines nervously awaiting the torture ahead of them One by one the maidens escort the women into an isolated room where they take boiling hot wax and plaster it on the womans face After that they place a cloth over the wax By this time the woman already in pain stands dreading the cruel act about to occur In a matter of seconds when the wax is cooled off the maidens rip it off the womans face tearing away each hair strand from its root As if this process wasnt painful enough the woman undergoes an even more painful torture next The woman removes her clothing mind you the Naciremans are very secretive about their bodies exposure of their bodies is normally forbidden howeve r within these walls they must subject themselves to partial nudity before these maidens Once their clothing is removed the maidens pour the same boiling hot wax on other parts of their body These body parts include the legs arms and shockingly the erogenous zone When body parts such as the
