Essay Komogata Maru Agree For Dear Robert Borden I am sending you this letter in regards to the Komogata Maru I think that sending them back was a mistake I say this for a number of reasons so following is why I think that sending them back was a mistake The first reason was that East Indians coming into Canada British Columbia would lower wages and work for less Document A This is good because it would promote more business due to the amount of low cost laborers available The second reason would be that allowing East Indians into the country would further diversify the country because they are people who possess different manners and customs Document B than other Canadians This would allow a more broad range opinions that can be shared because of the different points of view Also if they are people made for tropical climates Document b but they want to come to Canada you should feel privileged because obviously they think highly of Canada The third reason would be that it was the Sikhs who at the most critical period of the Indian Mutiny saved the situation and who from that day to this in many a well-fought field have proved what brave loyal soldiers they are If they are worthy to fight our battles for the glory of the Empire are they not worthy to share in its advantages Document C Another reason why it was a mistake to send them back was if Canadians continue to send back Hindustanees and Asiatics in general Canadians will build a greater wall than the Chinese built in their country Document D This will eventually isolate them from everyone considering Asians and Hindustanees make up a lot of the worlds population An additional reason that came to mind was that in Canada there is an abundance of resources but the capital and labor are shy Document D The Sikhs are
