My Stock Market Experience From looking at the price movements of my six stocks I can conclude that the stock market is constantly fluctuating Most of the stocks that I chose followed the same pattern in the sense that they went up and down but when they were sold they resulted in profit I noticed that the prices of the stock that I sold in 1998 were significantly higher than those that I sold in 2002 I believe that these prices are dependent on the success of the individual companies and corporations The market price of stock depends heavily on the overall performance of a corporation in meeting its business objectives If a company reaches its stated objectives there are great opportunities for capital gains This is why it is critical to carefully research companies and industries keep up with the news and make use of investment resources such as newspapers and TV I found that it is essential to diversify my investments By diversifying my investments I decreased the chance of losing all the money that I had invested The short-term investments that I made turned out to be very risky to sell at a certain date It is very difficult to determine or foresee if it is the right time to pull out One thing that stands true is that there is no such thing as easy money or a sure thing My stock market experience has helped me understand the realities and risks of investing It has provided me with a realistic view and changed my bear way of thinking which was that stock prices will always decline and one will lose most if not all of the money that they have invested My experience has taught me that the stock market is truly a roller-coaster ride
