America is a great country recording giant strides in social economic and cultural progress America is a country in which every person has the opportunity to succeed and grow to improve from themselves and society Todays youth have learned from generations before us that it takes hard work determination and dedication to be successful in life We are taught at an early age to set goals and try to improve our standard of living Without continual progress in our American society we wouldnt be able to further cultivate Americas future together Progress is best defined by Websters Dictionary as a forward or onward movement as to an objective or to a goal or gradual betterment Through progress America is still working to achieve a better life for its entire people Winston Churchill once said Everyday you may make progress Every step may be fruitful Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening ever-ascending ever-improving path You know you will never get to the end of the journey But this so far from discouraging only adds to the joy and glory of the climb I believe Churchills statement strongly reflects the view of American society in that every day month or year that goes by in some way people are looking to progress Americas people are always looking for a better life for themselves which makes America progress as a whole For example a team is only as strong as its weakest link and if the weakest player doesnt have the drive to work harder and get better then the team wont be as successful In the terms of American society if the little factory man doesnt want to work harder for more opportunity in life the American society wont be as strong In America in order to live better life that we have already been living one must progress day after day We as people progress like a tree growing high on a mountain
