A Brief Encounter with Destiny She appeared behind the curtain suddenly and sat at the corner of my hospital bed I had been crying and seeing Lady Philosophy made me cry even more because I knew she would tell me that after all this misery I have gone through I would never find supreme happiness Yet she was wrong and somehow I needed to gather the strength to tell her She needed to know the real truth in how we can attain happiness in this lifetime no matter what miseries we may have gone through You weep and weep and although I do not know the reason for your sadness Destiny I know that talking about it we can somehow find consolation in your troublesome situation Tell me of the burdens that make you so sad My two kids and my husband and I were all asleep when it happened My smallest child came screaming into our bedroom as the fire alarm went off We all panicked and started running Somehow the fire spread so fast from one side of the house to another We were all in there too long in the midst of tragedy we were holding on to each other trying to fight our way out of the flames Although my husband and I managed to send the kids off first it must have been too much for their small lungs I then ran through the flames that have now burned my body so badly I am unable to move My husband never made it out of the house After I left the fire must have gotten worse because I never saw him again We were all rushed to the hospital and I was separated from my kids It was the most agonizing moment of my life I had just lost my husband and my only family left were being taken away from me I could see their eyes were closed
