The inextinguishable race is a short story that shows the world from a child eye view it is an ironic short story where the children have seemed to switch responsiblity roles with the adults it is relevant to discuss what the children symbolize in the short story In The inextinguishable race the children symbolize the working class of society they lived by the popluar cliche of all work and no play the children were responisble fro building cleaning wood working harvesting and selling these job that are performed by adults and they show cruelty to children they are in total violation of the child labor laws The point of view of the short story is man verse society the way the people are living is total opposite of the way society is they are not children who perform laborious task while adults sit around and entertain themselves with simple pleasure in the real world adults have the hard jobs and are the bread winners for the household children are supposed to enjoy their childhood it is not their responsiblity of children to do the hard labrious work they are suppose to run around with their friend and enjoy their childhood life and they are supposed to get ito mischieveous thigns and not have a care in the world this is the message that the author is trying to send to the readers in conclusion the in The inextinguishable race is an ironic short shory that depicts cruely of children children are forced to do masculine tasks while adults sit around the house not doing any type of work they are mostly entertaining their friendsm by playing cards dancing and having more fun then the children are
