Eric Clapton was born on March 30 1945 His mother Patricia Molly Clapton was only 16 years old at that time His father was Edward Walter Fryer 24 year old Canadian soldier who was stationed in England during the WWII left them both and returned to his wife in Canada When he was growing up he was quiet polite boy with a talent for art He believed that his mother was actually his sister and that his grandparents were his real parents-he lived in that belief until he was nine He started playing guitar around the time he started college The first band that he joined was called The Roosters Afterwards he was in a variety of bands out of which the most prominent ones are The Yardbirds and Cream After Cream broke up he started to pursue his own solo career He is known as the only triple inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame as a member of both The Yardbirds and Cream and also as a solo artist Eric Clapton was under a lot of influence of Blues which can be noticed by listening to his songs He wrote most of his own songs It is interesting how you can find a clear underlined message in most of them The first time that I heard Eric Clapton was seven or eight years ago when I took my moms CD Unplugged and started playing it Even though I was unfamiliar with the artist I was under impression that I heard one of his songs somewhere before Well the fact is that I did hear his song Layla before only I didnt know who the performer was But when I listened to his whole album I understood that there was much more that he had to offer I like listening to blues which makes Clapton one of my most admired artists because blues is what has influenced him throughout of his life-sadly
