Do not follow where the path may lead Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail Robert Frost- There is never a simple straight path that leaves us with only one direction to travel in We are not meant to simply be put into idle and let our existence lead us down a route Rather we are to choose the route ourselves and our existence is to follow in our footsteps We are all travelers and we chose the map of our continuous journey we call life The road not taken by Robert Frost is a poem that emphasizes this it has left its readers with many interpretations It is ones past present and the general attitude we choose to look upon our future that determines how we see this poem However it is clear that Frost believes the path one chooses is what makes him the man he is And sorry I could not travel both It is always difficult to make a decision and to think of the opportunities we are missing by not choosing a different path In the poem there is a strong sense of regret even before the choice is made This regret lies in the knowledge that in one lifetime one cannot travel down every path In an attempt to make a decision Frost looks down one as far as I could He can only see as far as his eyes will strain eventually the road surpasses his vision like every choice in life He can never see where the path leads It is his decision here that sets him on his journey and is the deciding factor as to where he is going Then took the other just as fare and having perhaps better claim This path was grassy and wanted wear It was apparent that the majority of people chose to take the other path and this route was not for the masses and
