This essay is not embedded with non-factual giberish instead it is a look at hard facts for and against fear of global warming According to the National Academy of Sciences the Earths surface temperature has risen by about 1 degree Fahrenheit in the past century with accelerated warming during the past two decades But is this attributable to human activities Have human activities altered the chemical composition of the atmosphere through the buildup of greenhouse gases primarily carbon dioxide methane and nitrous oxide Or has the environment itself been the cause and the environment itself the solution According to the EPA Environmental Protection Agency the United States produces approximately 66 tons almost 15000 pounds carbon equivalent of greenhouse gasses per person every year And emissions per person have increased about 34 between 1990 and 1997 Most of these emissions about 82 are from burning fossil fuels to generate electricity and power our cars The remaining emissions are from methane from wastes in our landfills raising livestock natural gas pipelines and coal as well as from industrial chemicals and other sources So if this is such a big problem why has so little been done Mainly because there is no credible evidence that these emitions actually lead to depletion of the Ozone Any such evidence has been shown as heavily bias and rather unfair It seems there are many out there that blame polluters for everything from their sore feet to the holocaust The Sierra Club Global Warming Campaign even went so far as to tell homeowners to stop using there refrigerators because the emitions could damage the Ozone Many agencies have taken this matter too far but even more upsetting is how far governments have gone According to John L Daly a man considered to be an expert on global warming It is well known among climate scientists that the Kyoto Protocol as presently formulated only lasts until 2012 and will have zero
