I Introduction The purpose of our research project examining the Egyptian - American culture is to educate others on the similarities as well as the differences between the American and Egyptian cultures Since the Egyptian culture is some what unknown to the American population this paper is designed to provide knowledge and background on this amazing culture Our paper examines several different aspects of the Egyptian culture specifically this paper focuses on elements and systems of the Egyptian culture and its significance here in the United States fundamental values and beliefs major contributions of the Egyptian culture to the United States and characteristics of communication style as well as the skills needed to communicate effectively with the Egyptian - American culture Description of the Sample Age and Gender For the purpose of this research project we interviewed ten Egyptian Americans ranging between twenty and fifty years of age four females and six males We tried to interview a wide rage of ages as to compare the differences between the older and younger generations here in the United States Education and Professions Six of the interviewees we currently university students between the ages of twenty to twenty-four Of the four males and two females interviewed who were currently in college all of the males and one of the females were currently pursuing degrees in the computer engineering field the other female was pursuing a business degree in marketing Our other samples two males and one female all had received higher education degrees other than a college degree Both men had PH Ds in electrical engineering One of the males was a senior director of the electrical engineering department for Power Integration here in the Silicon Valley and the other male was a manager of circuit design at Siliconx another Silicon Valley based computer company The woman had a MBA degree although she also received an architectural degree from the University of Cairo and is
